Hey! My name is Jessica Livingston, let’s get to know each other, shall we?
Some people call me the queen of the word “favorite” so here are some (several) favorites I have: diet soda, dying my hair crazy colors, binging Netflix, swimming in the ocean, traveling to new places, baby tan lines, Mario Kart, going to the gym, the Bachelor (shameless fan over here…), beautiful sunsets, choosing a new favorite song every week, going to therapy (no judging, its so cool!), dancing even though I’m terrible at it, and last but not least; being a freakin wedding photographer!!! (major heart eyes)
I’m goofy, shy sometimes, awkward always, loud when I need to be, and I love to treat life like the party that it is.
Here's a little background on my life, not that you care, but just in case ;) I graduated from Brigham Young University Idaho with my bachelors degree in International Studies. I married my husband in 2016, and after moving all over, we are finally in the greater San Diego area! I am a mama to my sweet/punk baby Kai. (Check out my Instagram for some pictures of his chubby little face!!) I love to meet new people. My second job is as the Executive Director (CEO, baby!) of a non-profit foundation called African Promise Foundation. It operates out of Uganda, Africa - my second home. I am so intrigued with all kinds of people and learning about their unique life stories. I think that's what originally enthralled me the most about photography; capturing different stories that are important to people.
If I could take pictures all day every day, I would! I love to capture people in their natural moments. My ultimate goal is to convey raw emotion with each image - a picture is truly worth a thousand words! You can’t capture a story or convey emotion through posing and smiling at the camera, so I like to keep that to a minimum. I prefer the raw, the natural, the unposed laughing and smirking that happens when you’re in your element.
I also am a firm believer that "the good old days" are currently happening, and someday we will look back on today as the best time of our lives, and I don’t want any of us to look back on our lives and wish we had “had a good photo while pregnant”, “had images that captured the essence of our wedding day”, or “gotten a picture of our kids in each stage they were in”.
So say hey, shoot me an email, and let’s preserve your important moments, for you and all of your loved ones.
