Destination Wedding, Puerto Vallarta

Sara + Noah’s destination wedding in puerto vallarta, jalisco, mexico - casa valerie

Sara + Noah escaped the cold winter of the midwest with their closest friends and family to get married in the warm and dreamy Puerto Vallarta. When Sara reached out to me about shooting her destination wedding, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. Sara is a very talented wedding photographer as well — there’s no bigger honor than being hired by a fellow wedding vendor.

Inspired by the stunning colors of Puerto Vallarta Mismaloya, and the incredible views that Casa Valerie offers from such a high vantage point - this wedding was designed to not distract from all of the natural beauty, but to compliment it. The wedding colors, the decor, and the layout were all planned around the surroundings and taking advantage of the best spots at the best times. It was the most incredible day to be a part of, and I find myself still dreaming about these ocean views.

With nods to the tropics, the clean architecture of the casa, the rich colors of the beach, and the brightness in the humid salty air - each detail couldn’t have been more perfect. Casa Valerie was one of the most incredible wedding venues I’ve ever been to, and I’d go back in one second. Not only is it incredible to look at (obviously), the location is unbeatable and the staff was mind-blowingly kind, and good at their jobs. The food made by the in-house chef was some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. I’d highly recommend any of the vendors involved in this wedding to by used by anyone - it was an incredible destination event.

Sara + Noah booked my weekend package, which gave me time flexibility day-of and the ability to attend their rehearsal dinner. The photos from the rehearsal dinner are priceless and I’m so glad I was a part of it and all of the special and intimate moments that happened that evening.

One of my favorite parts of being involved in the full weekend of a wedding, is that I get to make friends with all of the friends and family of the couple. It helps me feel so comfortable around the group, and it makes them feel so much more comfortable around the camera. The pictures are proof at the friendships that I created with this couple’s closest circle - I loved every second of it.

Images shot on mix of 35mm film + digital.
