FAQs
-
I charge travel fees on an individual basis based on what it costs me to make the trip happen! Usually that’s the cost of a flight, hotel, and transportation.
-
I add the travel fee on to the second payment of a package, after I’ve booked the travel and know how much it cost!
-
Yes! For potential travel clients, I’ll do a quick google on what the flights and hotels look like in the general location around that time of year, and give an estimate based off of that.
-
Everything outside of San Diego County :)
-
Short answer - Usually not!
Long answer - I determine the travel based off of what I end up paying for the travel itself. In order to make it fair for both of us; I want to not overcharge you, or underpay myself! I can’t book the travel until the retainer is paid on the contract, so within my system, it just doesn’t work to do charge beforehand!
The exception is for travel fees that are charged locally to California where I will not need to “book” anything. I.e. I charge travel fees for Joshua Tree, LA, Malibu, Santa Barbara, etc. But if the timeline does not require me to stay the night, I’ll drive home and the travel fee is flat!
