Coronado Engagement Photos

Kelsey + Andrew Engagement Photoshoot, Coronado Island, San Diego

The Hotel Del Coronado is one of my favorite shoot locations in San Diego. The dunes with the green on them are so unique to this beach, and give a totally different look to an otherwise pretty flat and typical beach. I also think its fun and very ā€œsan diegoā€ to get the hotel in the background! It is such a pretty hotel šŸ˜ But the real best part about this shoot was the clients - cause HOLY CRAP they were so much fun.

Engagement Shoots are my happy place - itā€™s such a fun time of life, and such a fun thing to capture. We get to spend some time getting all the silly and playful photos, while also being romantic, and really taking the time to enjoy it all! (vs. a wedding day where weā€™re more pressed for time and donā€™t have as much freedom to goof around and have fun!) And for some reason, 2021 is bringing me the BEST clients. I have been having SO much fun with all of my engagement shoots and getting to know all of these rad couples.

Now for a little bit about Kelsey + Andrewā€¦ they are just genuinely GREAT human beings. If I havenā€™t said it enough, they truly made my job an absolute blast. I get asked sometimes what makes ā€œgreat clientsā€ - and the answer to that question is personified in these two! They are down-to-earth yet also super playful.

They felt so awkward (like literally everyone else I promise!) but just chose to embrace feeling awkward for the sake of the amazing photos. They laughed at themselves, I laughed at myself, and we laughed at each other. They were so brave to embrace all the weird crap, and also the serious-romantic-mushy stuff. They were interested in my life, and also shared all of the important and funny parts of their life. I could go on and on, but really I just left this shoot feeling so refreshed!

Theyā€™ve been together for yearssss (high school sweethearts) and got engaged last Christmas! He planned on doing a sweet proposal in front of their families, but some things got in the way, and he ended up proposing on the street in the dark outside of their house šŸ˜‚ They didnā€™t have any photos taken of the proposal as it was a little, well, not according to plan! So they hadnā€™t announced to people officially that they were even engaged! These pictures took care of that šŸ˜‰

From the story of her diamond in her ring (a mistressā€™ heirloom may or may not be involved), to the story of the proposal, and their plan for life togetherā€¦ we were all giggles and smiles, and had so much fun together. The best part about a shoot being so great, is that we are all in our best positions for the photos to look GREAT. And I, for one, am pretty obsessed with how they turned out. Enjoy šŸ˜˜
